What to expect

Island exploration doesn't get much better than this. On this full day experience, you'll venture into both a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arianne, one of our local guides, says, ‘I really love this tour because it's an overdose of nature, focusing on the volcanology of the present and the past.' But there's more – there's also the remote village of Taganana, viewpoints and one of the most popular beaches in Tenerife.

Leaving your hotel in an eight-seater minivan, you'll head to La Laguna, famed for its pastel-coloured palaces and collection of Mudejar-style chapels, churches and convents. A quarter of the town's structures date from the colonial period up to the 18th century. So rich is its architectural heritage that UNESCO listed it in 1999 because of its authenticity. After free time to explore La Laguna at your own pace, why not mingle with locals at the weekly market?

From here, you'll head to the crescent-shaped beach of Las Teresitas, complete with palm trees. The scenery changes dramatically next, as we journey through the laurel forest of Las Mercedes en route to Taganana. This whitewashed hamlet cascades down a slope in Anaga Rural Park. Here, you'll enjoy a lunch made from locally sourced ingredients in a family-run restaurant. The afternoon features a scenic drive through the volcanic Anaga Mountains – a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve – stopping at the 360-degree viewpoint at Pico del Inglés and at Cruz del Carmen viewpoint.

Das essen und das Restaurant waren eine Katastrophe. Im Fischerdorf konnte man auch nichts sehen, sondern nur aufs Meer gucken.
