Why you’ll love this…
  • Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Chichén Itzá
  • Arrive early to avoid the crowds and the midday heat
  • Cool off in a cenote and visit Valladolid at your own pace
What to expect

Avoid the crowds and the midday heat in Chichén Itzá with a private day trip from the Riviera Maya. Be one of the first to visit the famous Mayan ruins thanks to hotel pickup and early arrival at 8.00am (depending where your hotel is located, time may vary). You will feel that the archaeological site is open exclusively for you!

Once at Chichén Itzá, the first place you will visit is the Kukulkan Castle. You will have a close encounter with the pyramid and be able to take great pictures without people. The guide will give you an extensive overview of the site and the Mayan culture.

After Chichén Itzá, you will have the chance to cool off in a cenote located at Hacienda Oxman (25 minutes from Chichén Itzá). During the trip, you will pass through several villages and get to see the rural side of Yucatan and local life.

Next, you will visit the colonial town of Valladolid. Founded in 1543 AC, it is one of the oldest cities in Yucatan. You will have lunch at a local restaurant in the main square. After lunch, you can explore the town on your own.

Fantastic full day adventure. We were picked up from our hotel by Heriberto in his luxurious SUV. We arrived at Chichén Itzá just before opening, allowing us to explore the site before the crowds. Heriberto gave clear information about the archaeological site. After we headed to the beautiful Cenote, again before the crowds. We cooled off with a swim before heading to Valladolid where were treated to a large traditional lunch. We then visited some souvenir shops before heading back to our hotel.

The guide was superb. Very amiable and knowledgeable. He turned up on time for our very early pick up and got us there before the crowds and the heat. He spent a lot of time explaining everything we saw and it was so interesting! He then phoned ahead to book our lunch at a lovely restaurant where the food was delicious. First rate trip and highly recommended.

We got a personal guide to Chichen Itza but much more than that - Isaac was not only a fabulous guide & driver but photographed the family & learned about our interests to show us things that would like. My son, a budding archaeologist, loved the tour & Isaac answered our questions expertly & readily. The tour was flexible we altered when we ate & stayed longer at Chichen Itza than the town. The cenote was cooling & a super experience- Isaac pointed out the toucans, lizards & other animals !

Amazing experience. Isaac, our guide, was friendly and informative. He taught us lots about Chichen Itza and it was great to arrive before the crowds. Lunch was delicious and the cenote was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend for large family groups as it was not much more expensive than the public tour.

We had a fantastic private tour to Chichén Itzá! Abraham was an outstanding guide—incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. This was our second time doing the tour, but our first time as a private tour, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. The personalized experience made all the difference. If you’re considering visiting Chichén Itzá, go for the private tour—you won’t regret it!
