What to expect

Tenerife's mix of volcanic landscapes and charming colonial towns makes for epic sightseeing. And you'll discover the best of these in just one day on this VIP experience. See the famous Roques de Garcia, visit Puerto de la Cruz and enjoy lunch in a restaurant famed as much for its views as for its traditional Canarian fare. Arianne, one of our guides, says, "I love this tour because it combines everything that the island offers – botany, volcanology, sociology and the local way of life."

Your adventure begins the moment you board your VIP bus in the morning and set off towards Teide National Park. Along the way, there's a coffee stop at Vilaflor – the island's highest village – which has a compact old quarter of colonial buildings. At the national park, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll have free time to explore the Roques de Garcia. These jagged volcanic rocks make the ideal backdrop for some selfies. Then, as you head north out of the park, the lunar-like landscapes give way to luxuriant eucalyptus forests.

Our next stop is a popular restaurant, which boasts views of Teide and the coastline. Tuck into a typical lunch made from locally sourced seasonal products. In the afternoon, we'll head into Puerto de la Cruz. Enjoy a stroll along its volcanic seafront and through its palm-studded plazas and exotic gardens. On the return leg, we'll stop at a famous viewpoint, which looks down on the wave-washed coastal village of Garachico.

The sites visited were great but the guide seemed a little offish, didn't smile or communicate when we said hello or goodbye, perhaps she was having a bad day or something but was very informative

The guides were very professional and friendly. The views of Tiede and the landscape were amazing. I didnt really have high expectations for the included lunch but the food and restaurant were lovely. This is a full day out with plenty stops of interest. Highlly recommend.

Enjoyed the trip but were advised by Tui rep that return would be 5.30 p.m not 6.50. This affected our evening plans with family.. Also needed to ask about footware and length of walks as this was not made clear by rep when we booked.

Convenient pick up and drop off point. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke good English. We were lucky to have clear weather to allow good views throughout the trip. Excellent coverage of spectacular sights throughout the island, especially Teide. Good stops for photo opportunities. The first stop seemed unnecessary to us, though we appreciate some may have needed a toilet stop. Others stops were welcomed. Lunch was superb. Fantastic starter, good main and refreshing light dessert.

Whilst the tour was well organised, we found being only one of two English speaking passengers, the mixture of languages used, very confusing and the English spoken was a little unclear and difficult to follow. Personally I found it very tiring (10 hrs) getting on and off the bus, and having to listen very carefully for the change of language. The driver did excellently as did the guide, but too much to handle in one day. Lunch was lovely!
