What to expect

They've torn up the playbook on brewery tours with this one-of-a-kind day of magic and tradition at Tulum Brewery. The day begins with a blessing from a local shaman. They'll cleanse the energy in a traditional ceremony, then pass around the Ancestral Elixir, a velvety cacao stout, for your first tasting.

Next head along the jungle trails, stopping at beer museum stations to learn more about the history and development of beer in this part of the country. You'll reach a private cenote, a sacred natural waterhole that's unique to Mexico, where you can pull up a chair at the Sacred Ceiba bar and try a Holbox Dark Lager while watching the mystical waters.

Finally, at the Temple of Alchemy, a Master Brewer will give you a grand tour of Mexico's first craft brewery to use seawater in their brew. They'll begin with a quick overview of the whole process and you'll even take a sip of beer directly from the tank – it doesn't get fresher than that. You've also got the option of rounding off your visit with a masterclass where you'll taste four signature beers, along with four local bites, like tostada, mini burgers and tacos.
