  • Experience parts of the building typically off-limits, such as a private period-furnished apartment and the restricted-access basement and auditorium
  • Take an exclusive ride in the historic early 20th-century elevator to the terrace for panoramic vistas of Barcelona and a close-up look at the iconic twisted chimneys
  • Conclude the tour with a Mediterranean breakfast and coffee at the building’s cafeteria, offering an authentic taste of the region
What to expect

Explore Gaudi's Casa Milà before the crowds arrive, with exclusive early access. Admire the striking architecture as you climb stone stairwells, discover hidden corridors, and explore exclusive rooms not open to the public in a private apartment. At the time of its completion in 1912, Gaudi’s Casa Milà was controversial due to its unconventional design, tortured ironwork, and undulating façade. It was a complete departure from the traditional architectural norms of the time.

Yet it is these daring features that make the building such a celebrated landmark today, from the top of its twisted chimneys to the eccentric pillars on the ground floor. After meeting your National Geographic-trained guide, you’ll start in the courtyard of Casa Milà to admire the apartments above. As you climb the stone stairs, you will have a good view of the faded murals and wrought-iron balconies. Discover the interior, including a special apartment with period furniture and some exclusive rooms open exclusively for National Geographic travelers, usually off-limits to visitors.

Your guide will enlighten you on the origins of this iconic building and its architect, Antoni Gaudi. Learn about its history, construction, and find out why it's also known as "La Pedrera," as well as gaining personal insight into the lesser-known aspects of the building. Step inside the vaulted attic where you can view an exhibition on Gaudi's artistry and the Casa Milà.

Take an exclusive elevator ride to the terrace to see the famous chimneys and incredible Barcelona views. Finish your tour with an exclusive visit to the restricted-access basement and auditorium and complete the experience with a Mediterranean breakfast in the building's cafeteria.
