Things to do in Valldemossa Carthusian Monastery
Looking to add a dash of history to your Majorca beach holiday? The Valldemossa Carthusian Monastery , in the village of Valldemossa, is just the ticket. This 14th century monastery started off as a palace the kings of Majorca could call home. In the 1400s, it was then converted into the place of worship we know it as today. During your visit, you can explore almost all the grounds, which include a church, a library and plenty of well-kept gardens – top tip, head to the outer courtyards for the best views of the surrounding countryside. The charterhouse also has its own museum, where you can learn about Majorca’s past and all the different famous historical faces that were here at one time or another.

Reviews Valldemossa Carthusian Monastery
“Far too much time taken to pick up from other hotels - well over 2 hours- which meant very little time in each destination. San Moirigg was a complete waste of time and should be left out so longer can be spent in Valdemossa which looked very interesting, although we didn't have enough time to look at it properly. 45 minutes is a ridiculous amount of time to visit anywhere! Also the tour guide NEVER STOPPED TALKING for the whole day!”
“First of all getting back on the bus. It's not wheelchair friendly as some make it out. Couldn't get in most of the shops at all. The pavements wasn't all that great. Would I visit it again I don't think so.”
“This excursion was miss sold. I expected a guided tour of the cathedral and Valdamossa. But I ended up paying for admission to the cathedral and did not go to Valdamossa, so £74 is very expensive for a trip to Palma. I could have taken a public bus cheaper”
