For more than 135 years, National Geographic has helped illuminate the triumphs and the complexities of our planet, creating a legacy rooted in the pursuit of knowledge through scientific excellence, dauntless exploration, transformative education and unforgettable storytelling.

National Geographic Expeditions grew from a desire to share this legacy of exploration with people from all over the globe. We strive to create emotional connections to the world’s natural and cultural wonders by providing immersive travel experiences that deliver up close and in-depth opportunities to discover them first hand.

Since its founding in 1888, the non-profit National Geographic Society has awarded more than 15,000 grants to Explorers—scientists, educators, conservationists and storytellers—who are inspired to make a difference and protect the world and all those that inhabit it. In addition, National Geographic magazine, books, maps, and film and television divisions, bring National Geographic to life for millions of people worldwide, every day. National Geographic Expeditions taps these resources to create unique and authentic travel experiences around the world.

A portion of proceeds from all travel National Geographic programs support the Society’s efforts to increase global understanding through exploration, science, innovation and education.

National Geographic Day Tours

Offered in collaboration with TUI, National Geographic Day Tours are shorter discovery experiences based on National Geographic’s unparalleled storytelling and legacy of exploration. Limited to small groups and led by National Geographic-trained guides who are subject matter experts in their fields, these Day Tours are designed to offer premium, enriching and immersive experiences that will satisfy the curiosity of travelers.

With a focus on culture, history, nature, adventure, gastronomy, photography and conservation, these tours blend hands-on exploration with opportunities to forge human connections while getting a glimpse into the lives of people around the world.

These tours include exclusive access and hands-on experiences that offer a true local immersion. National Geographic believes that when travelers truly understand a place and its people, they feel more inspired to protect it.

Travelers are led by National Geographic-trained guides and are enriched by the knowledge of local experts who join them throughout the tours.

Based on a commitment to sustainable tourism, all National Geographic Day Tours meet the Global Sustainable Tourism Council criteria, and a portion of the proceeds from every tour goes back to the National Geographic Society to fund research and sustainable programs around the world.
