Serious lack of information about what was to happen, transfers back, what was included etc. They put english speakers in one room on arrival and just forgot about us for around 30 minutes. Eventually the spa and hammam was pretty good once we got into it but we were just shuffled around a bit chaotic
Why not live life like a local for the day with a trip to a Turkish bath or hammam. An ancient way to relax and freshen up, they're also brilliant for exfoliating your skin, so you're more likely to develop a lasting tan. If you want a top-notch tan whilst trying something new, then this experience is for you.
Everything starts when we take you to one of the best local hammams. Here, you'll change into your swimwear in a cubicle and wrap up in a towel. Then it's off to the hammam itself – a humid, marble-tiled room with a ‘gobektasi', a heated stone slab in the centre. Relax as the heat softens your skin, opens your pores and gets you sweating out those toxins.
Lying on the ‘gobektasi', you'll be treated to a body scrub followed by a covering in soft, soapy bubbles and a face mask. After that, you'll enjoy an all-over oil massage that'll leave you positively glowing. Round off with a cup of Turkish tea, and it's a great way to start your holiday.
