Kick off your adventure on the historic Île de la Cité with a leisurely walk through its medieval streets. Along the way, you’ll pass landmarks such as Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie, as your guide brings to life stories of Paris’s royal, religious, and revolutionary past.

Next, admire the exterior of the Notre Dame Cathedral, recently reopened and beautifully restored. Your guide will point out its iconic façade, gargoyles, and rose windows before accompanying you inside, where you’ll have time to appreciate the cathedral’s Gothic architecture on your own. Take in the grandeur of the nave and chapels at your own pace, while reflecting on the cathedral’s centuries of history and artistry.

Equestrian Statue of Henri IV, 15 Place du Pont Neuf, 75001 Paris, France

Meet your guide at the statue of Henri IV, in the middle of Pont Neuf, at the western end of Île de la Cité. Pont Neuf is the bridge that links Île de la Cité to both the left and right banks of Paris. The statue is of a man on a horse sitting in the middle of the bridge. Your tour leader will be holding a City Wonders sign at the meeting point for easy recognition. Nearest Metro: Pont Neuf (7) or Cité (4). Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the tour starts.

  • This tour involves a fair amount of walking. Not suitable for guests with wheelchairs or impairments requiring special assistance
  • Strollers and baby carriages cannot be accommodated

Not allowed:

  • Large bags and luggage are prohibited inside the cathedral

  • Photography poles are not permitted
